ancient Kingdom of Yam and Ancient Kemet—a timeless tale of trade,

of Yam was a beacon of wealth and valor, offering goods and warriors
that fortified the borders of Ancient Kemet and enriched its society.

Our Name, Our Purpose
“Yamda” embodies history and belonging. Rooted in the Jeeng (Dinka)
word “da,” meaning “our,” and “Yam” from the ancient Kingdom of
Yam, the name signifies “Our Yam.” It reflects the company’s pride in
its cultural heritage and its dedication to serving the community with
inclusivity, authenticity and sustainability. Every product and service
we offer tells a story—a story of the Nile Valley, its ingenuity, and its
